Self-help books to make money – are they right for you?
Everyone want to make some extra money, which is why there are thousands if not tens of thousands of self-help books advising you how to make cash. There are even websites which claim to list the top 50, the top 100 or the top everything in self-help books to help you make money.
When you start looking through these books there seems to be a common theme. The author will invariably tell you how he or she was down to their last dollar before they discovered the magic formula, some books will talk about long complicated exercises and affirmations – and don’t forget the story boards, visualisation techniques and a whole host of other recommendations.
All of these are fine if they work for you and our team here at PPT have put together a few recommendations, but as regular visitors to this site will be aware, making more money should be kept as simple as possible. Be positive, use common sense and then take action – and don’t forget to do everything in baby steps and be realistic.
And because no one can claim to have all the answers then if you are really serious about making money then at least check out one or two of the titles below. Read the reviews to see if they could work for you – after all why part with your hard earned cash if the book is unable to give you a return on that investment – self-help starts with you, it starts here and it starts NOW.

Entrepreneur Mindsets and Habits
So, why is it that some individuals can shine in any sphere they choose to give themselves to, and others just cannot manage even a glimmer of success, despite their definite talents? It seems unfair, really.
But, in truth, research shows us that it’s actually the way that individuals think about their potential and skills that really counts most. In fact, historically speaking, many of those who have achieved real greatness have worked extremely hard to get to their end goals. And, it’s also true that many were told that they would never amount to anything at all, by friends, colleagues, family and/or peers. The difference was that they believed that they could achieve their goals and worked extremely diligently to do so. Walt Disney who created Disneyland in the USA is a prime example of an individual who never gave up on his dreams. His belief in himself (and others) was profound and inspirational, to say the least.
Of course, we’d all like to know the “magical” secret to success, but the real reality is that there are actually so many different factors that must be taken into account, to what makes one a truly successful human being. It’s definitely true that hard work and dedication are so important in reaching success. But there’s more to success than just plugging away, day after day. Maintaining a focus-driven mindset is pivotal, and can be the difference between success and failure, especially in the long-term.

Money: Know More, Make More, Give More
Do you want to get to the stage – soon – where you are truly financially independent, able to use your money in the way you’d like, and be completely confident in your ability to take care of yourself and your family?
That is a universal desire, but many of us regard wealth and financial independence as a goal which we’ll likely never achieve – there are just too many bills that need paying and there is a widespread belief that the money game is rigged. Even people who win the lottery or inherit money often seem to wind up losing it. The evidence suggests you can’t win a game that you don’t understand – even if you start out winning – because you never understood the game in the first place.
So how can you win with money? How can you create independent wealth and hold on to it? This inspiring book by self-made multi-millionaire Rob Moore explains the rules of the game, shares simple tricks for managing money better, details how to create a plan for an ambitious future, and shows you the very best way to become a millionaire – to think and behave like one!
Lack of financial know-how is hitting us hard. We aren’t saving enough money for the future, are stuck paying over the odds for goods, and drowning in debt; so how do we take back control of our money?

This has actionable information on how to unleash the full power of a successful entrepreneur within you.
The world’s most famous saying today has to be “everyone can be an entrepreneur”. Like most sayings, it is largely on the money, excuse the pun. Yet, like a lot of sayings, there is some distillation to be done before you can take the words at face value.
Sure enough, you do not need fancy academic papers to succeed at business. You do not need to come from money to have a shot at being a successful entrepreneur. That’s not all; there is no standard to adhere to, to make it in business.
What you mostly need is the “stuff of life”; you need a strong mental core; you need grit, determination and a propensity to take risks. And yet, this is perhaps what makes entrepreneurship perhaps the hardest field of them all. The field is full of turbulence; more often than not, it is hard to predict how tomorrow will shape up as a businessman. It may take you two decades or two years to see real success. This may explain why so many people fail in their startups (more than 90% of startups don’t get to celebrate their 5th birthday!).
Well, you don’t have to set yourself up for failure while starting your next big business. To ensure you start on a good footing, this book will dissect the mindsets of some of the most successful people that have ever lived. It will teach you the “stuff of life” and the mindset that you need to succeed in the business world, and offer it in a format that you can easily understand as an aspiring businessman.

This book is not about adding more time to your day. It is about replacing those things that are not serving your future with success habits designs specifically to assist you on your journey to that better you.
This book has broken down the walls of complexity and created simple success recipes for you to quickly implement in your life to reach the level of wealth and abundance you desire.
In 2010, 24-year old Grant Sabatier woke up to find he had $2.26 in his bank account. Five years later, he had a net worth of over $1.25 million, and CNBC began calling him “the Millennial Millionaire.” By age 30, he had reached financial independence. Along the way he uncovered that most of the accepted wisdom about money, work, and retirement is either incorrect, incomplete, or so old-school it’s obsolete.
Financial Freedom is a step-by-step path to make more money in less time, so you have more time for the things you love. It challenges the accepted narrative of spending decades working a traditional 9 to 5 job, pinching pennies, and finally earning the right to retirement at age 65, and instead offers readers an alternative: forget everything you’ve ever learned about money so that you can actually live the life you want.
Look around you – what do you see? You may discover to your surprise that the people who are most at peace with money are the ones who walk nimbly between having too little and having too much. They have found a balance between indulgence and austerity; between success and happiness; between motivation and inspiration; and between any number of other poles we tend to think of as either/or choices, but which in reality are simply posts on either side of a doorway through which we must pass.
For many of us the subject of money is unavoidably stressful. Managing our personal finances is complicated, time consuming and often, particularly in the slow countdown to pay day, dispiriting. The good news is that in Japan – where a Zen approach to life is more widely practiced – a pathway to a better relationship with money is being carved, by Ken Honda.
This beautifully written book will reinvent the way you see your personal finances. You will come to understand that money flows like water and arrives like a guest. You’ll rethink your own attitudes and examine the way they were shaped by beliefs about money you were taught as a child. When we heal the fear and anxiety we have about money, we successfully achieve prosperity and peace.
It’s Not Your Money
It’s natural to crave prosperity. Some seek to manifest it in myriad ways–using anything from vision boards to writing a pretend check for a million dollars from the Bank of Divinity. Yet whatever comes, or doesn’t, the mind always seems to want more.
But what if there was a whole other way? Instead of grasping and chasing, what if we offered everything–our money (or lack of it), our triumphs, our problems, our desires–fully back to Love? What if this offering itself was actually the secret to abundance?
Tosha Silver, internationally beloved spiritual guide, has created a practical and powerful financial book unlike any other. Mindfulness for Women
No matter who we are, or what stage of life we are at, we all long for similar things; to be happy, connected with others, in touch with a sense of calm and peace, vital, alive and joyful. And we long to be able to ride out the tough patches that hit all of us from time to time with some degree of grace and dignity.
The good news is that we can fulfil these longings at any time, in any place. They are only a moment away, a breath away. We can learn how to be comfortable with our body, know and understand our mind, and love our heart. It isn’t difficult, long-winded or time-consuming. In doing so you’ll feel happier in your own skin, less stressed, more confident, more capable and more at ease with yourself and life.
This is what Mindfulness for Women is about. It is a practical guide to coming home to yourself in each present moment. To finding the ledge behind the waterfall. To resting in the depths of the ocean rather than being tossed about by surface waves.
Are you happy? Is there more to life than this? What if there is another way? ~ “Hidden in plain sight within the 300 or so pages of RESET is an elegant synthesis of the latest thinking in financial independence, lifestyle design, and age-old philosophical wisdom – cunningly disguised as a breezy pep talk from your witty mate down the pub. In a world that’s forever racing past us on a screen, it’s a reminder of the potentially life-changing power of a book.” – MONEVATOR
What if that way doesn’t involve jacking in your job, leaving your partner, having a midlife crisis, uprooting your existence? What if that way just involves small actions, taken every day? With no more effort than you now spend tending your social media flock, superglued to a screen.
Best of all, what if that way costs you little? In fact, what if that way saves you a tonne of money and lets you retire a few years earlier?
