Try To Do Something Remarkable
We often underestimate what is possible because we spend too much time trying to be realistic. We look at what other people have achieved, compare it with where we are today and decide that remarkable things are for somebody else. Someone more talented. More confident. More successful. Someone who had better opportunities. But what if you stopped making that decision before you had even tried?
“Try to do something remarkable” is a challenge. Not a promise that you will become famous, wealthy or extraordinary. It is an invitation to stop automatically choosing the safest, smallest version of what you could do.
Remarkable doesn't have to mean changing the world. It could mean doing something you have always been afraid to try. Starting the business you have talked about for years. Writing the book. Learning something completely new. Making the difficult decision. Helping someone when you could have walked past. The important word is try.
You don't have to know that you will succeed. You don't need to have everything worked out before you begin. You need enough curiosity to discover what might happen if you give yourself a chance.
Positive thinking isn't about convincing yourself that you are destined for greatness. It is about questioning the thoughts that tell you to stay where you are.You are not broken.
You may have spent years underestimating yourself because of old experiences, criticism, disappointment or fear. None of those things can tell you what you are capable of doing next. So try.
Try something that scares you. Try something that excites you. Try something that makes you wonder whether you are capable of it. You might surprise yourself. Because remarkable things rarely begin with certainty. They begin with someone deciding to try.
