Positive Thinking Videos That Make You Think

Sometimes a different way of looking at something is all it takes to see what you've been missing. Welcome to the Powerful Positive Thinking video wall, where you'll find ideas, insights and practical thoughts designed to make you stop, think and perhaps question some of the things you have always believed about yourself and your life.

These videos aren't about pretending everything is wonderful, repeating positive statements until you believe them or convincing yourself that simply thinking about something will make it happen. Life doesn't work that way. Difficult things happen, plans go wrong, people disappoint us and sometimes we get things wrong ourselves. Positive thinking doesn't mean denying any of that.

Instead, these videos explore what happens when you change the way you understand those experiences. They look at fear, anxiety, self-doubt, confidence, failure, choice, relationships, happiness and the thoughts that can quietly hold us back. Sometimes the most useful thing you can do is challenge a belief you've carried for years and ask yourself whether it is actually true.

The videos also reflect a central idea behind Michael Younge's approach to positive thinking: you don't necessarily need to become a different person to create a better future. You may need to remove some of the things that have been getting in your way.

Fear can make you believe you aren't capable. Self-doubt can persuade you not to try. Past experiences can convince you that the future will simply repeat itself. Other people's opinions can become your own internal voice. Once those thoughts become familiar, we can mistake them for facts.

That's why positive thinking is not about constantly telling yourself that everything will work out. It is about learning to think clearly enough to recognise what is actually within your control and then deciding what you are going to do about it.

The videos complement my books, blogs and wider work, including You Are Not Broken, which challenges the idea that we are all somehow projects in need of constant improvement.

You are not broken. You may simply have become buried beneath fear, self-doubt, criticism and assumptions that were never really yours to begin with. So, watch a video, take what is useful, question what isn't and, most importantly, think about what you might do differently afterwards.

Because watching a video won't change your life. What you do with the idea it gives you just might.
