Don’t Feel Inferior
How often do we look at somebody else and decide that they are better than us? They seem more confident. More successful. More attractive. More intelligent. More capable. Before long, comparison has done something dangerous: it has turned someone else's strengths into evidence of our own weaknesses. Don’t feel inferior is a reminder to question that way of thinking.
Nobody else gets to decide your value. You are not required to be the most successful person in the room, and you don't have to measure your life against somebody else's achievements. Everyone has strengths. Everyone has weaknesses. Everyone has experiences you know nothing about.
We often compare our everyday reality with somebody else's best moments. We see the success but not the years of failure that may have come before it. We see confidence without seeing the doubts. We see the finished result without seeing everything that happened along the way. That isn't a fair comparison.
Positive thinking doesn't mean convincing yourself that you are better than everyone else. It means recognising that you don't need to be better than someone else to have value.
You are allowed to learn at your own pace. You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to be inexperienced. You are allowed to become more confident without first having to prove your worth.
You are not broken. And you don't become more valuable by making somebody else smaller.
Stop asking, “Why am I not like them?” Start asking, “What could I become if I stopped comparing myself and started discovering myself?”
Your journey belongs to you. Don't feel inferior. There is only one you, and that is where your real potential begins.
