I am Capable of achieving great things

How often do we decide what we are capable of before we have given ourselves the chance to find out? It happens more often than we realise. We see something difficult and immediately think, I couldn't do that. We compare ourselves with someone who appears more talented, confident or experienced and use the comparison as evidence that we should stay where we are. But “I am capable” is a powerful statement because it challenges that assumption.

Being capable doesn't mean being able to do everything. It doesn't mean you will always succeed or that difficult things will suddenly become easy. It means recognising that your current abilities are not necessarily the limit of what you can learn.

You may not know how to do something yet. You may lack experience. You may make mistakes. You may need help, practice or time. None of those things mean you are incapable.

This is where positive thinking becomes useful. Instead of asking, “Can I do this?” as though the answer is already decided, ask “What would I need to learn to give myself a chance?” That question opens a door.

Your past doesn't have to determine your future. A mistake doesn't prove that you cannot succeed. Someone else's opinion doesn't become a fact because they said it. You are not broken.

There may be abilities within you that you have never discovered because you have never given yourself permission to try.

So don't decide that you can't before you begin. Learn. Practise. Ask questions. Make mistakes. Try again. And remind yourself: I am capable. I may not know how yet, but I am willing to find out.
