I Am Excited To Wake Up

What would happen if you stopped thinking of tomorrow as something to get through and started seeing it as something to discover? For many people, waking up begins with a list of obligations. Work. Bills. Appointments. Responsibilities. The mind can be busy before your feet have even touched the floor. But there is another way to look at the beginning of a day. I am excited to wake up.

Those words are not a promise that every morning will feel wonderful. Life does not work that way. There will always be difficult days, disappointments and mornings when getting out of bed feels like an effort. The point is the attitude behind the words.

Excitement comes from possibility. You do not have to know exactly what will happen for tomorrow to contain something worth looking forward to.

It could be a conversation you have been meaning to have. Something you are learning. A project you want to develop. A place you want to visit. Someone you love. Or an opportunity that has not even appeared yet.

Sometimes we become so focused on what is wrong with our lives that we stop noticing what could still be right. Positive thinking can help you change that focus.

Rather than waking up and immediately searching for reasons to worry, ask yourself what today might offer. What could you learn? Who could you help? What could you change? What small decision could move your life in a different direction?

You do not need a perfect life to become excited about tomorrow. You need a reason to believe that something is still possible. Every morning is another opportunity to begin again. Wake up curious. Wake up hopeful. Wake up ready to see what the day might bring.
