Pause and Reflect

Life can move so quickly that we forget to stop and think about where we are going. We respond to messages, make decisions, deal with problems and move from one responsibility to the next. Before long, we can find ourselves reacting to life rather than choosing how we want to live it.

Pausing isn't giving up. It isn't weakness and it doesn't mean you have lost momentum. Sometimes a pause gives you the opportunity to see something you couldn't see when you were rushing.

Reflection can be uncomfortable because it asks us to be honest with ourselves. But that honesty can be valuable. You don't have to react to every thought the moment it appears. You don't have to make every decision today. Giving yourself time to think can change the way you understand a situation and the way you respond to it.

You are not broken because you don't have all the answers. Sometimes you need to stop searching for an immediate solution and give yourself permission to think.

Take a breath. Step away from the noise. Look at where you are, where you have been and where you want to go. Pause and reflect. Sometimes the clearest way forward begins with standing still.
