Your Life Purpose
We spend an enormous amount of time asking ourselves what we should do with our lives. What career should we choose? Where should we live? How much money should we earn? What would make us successful? But there is another question that is often overlooked: What is your life actually for?
Your purpose does not have to be some grand ambition that changes the world. It may be found in the people you love, the things you create, the difference you make to others or the simple desire to become the best version of yourself. The danger is that we can spend so much time following somebody else's definition of success that we never stop to ask whether it is the life we actually want.
Your purpose may also change. What mattered to you at twenty may not matter at forty. A career, relationship, responsibility or experience can completely change the way you see the world. That doesn't mean you have lost your way. It means you are growing.
You are not required to have your entire life mapped out.
Sometimes finding your purpose starts with asking better questions. What makes you feel alive? What would you do if you weren't frightened of failing? Who do you want to help? What would you regret never trying? And remember, purpose isn't about becoming somebody you are not. You are not broken and you don't need fixing.
You may already have everything you need to begin. The challenge is to stop looking for someone else to tell you what your life should mean and start discovering what it means to you. Because your purpose in life may be a lot bigger than you think.
